Greetings Brother Knights;

Summer is upon us.  Try to stay cool brother knights!  Although they say it’s the lazy days of summer we have plenty of activities going on.  In June we supported another successful Safety Camp at Cambridge Middle School.  Terry Iverson reported that we had an excellent turnout.  The two days of training finished off with an Ice Cream Social.  A good number of Knights and their wives were there to serve the attendees kids and their parents.  We are fortunate to be able to sponsor such a worthy program and our hats go off to Terry and his safety friends for putting it all together and making it a success!

On Sunday, June 26th Father Frank celebrated his 40th year as a priest.  Father came and led us in singing at the 8:30 a.m. Mass and he served the 10:30 a.m. Mass after which there was an “Open House” for him in the Church Social Hall.  Lots of parishioners were able to thank Father and visit with him on this special day in his honor.  If you missed it, be sure to congratulate him for this accomplishment and for all his faithful years of service to our catholic community.

Rodeo days were a success again – several knights including Father Jose rode on a float designed and built by Marv Schommer.  The float represented us well and we gave away oodles of Tootsie Rolls to hundreds of happy children.  The food booth went well also!  Even though the food booth is sponsored by the church, many of the workers were knights and their wives.  Note that Tom and Andrea Burns and Ron and Kathy Wicht organized things and made it all happen; it’s a big job and we owe them our thanks!    They run an efficient and smooth operation.  We also thank all those who came and worked and helped out on this fundraiser for our Church.  Thank you!

 Coming up on Sunday, August 7th is the summer Seton Fest.  Be sure to sell all your Raffle Tickets.  This is a big day for our parish and we need to recruit as much help as possible to make it a success.  More importantly we need people to take on projects!  If you can, we need you to volunteer; in fact, you may want to partner with a friend or friends to make it a lot more fun.  And – if you know someone, who can take on a task, please ask him or her or pass their name on to me.  This is our biggest fundraiser of the year to help pay for our Church – we need your support!

The Pine County Demolition Derby will be held at the Pine County Fairgrounds on Saturday, August 6th.  Scott Skalicky is the Chairman of this event and he is recruiting knights and wives to help serve beer or sell brats in the main food tent.  This is a fun event, and better yet we get paid for doing it!  I look forward to seeing you there.  Call Scott to sign up at 763-434-8841.

Enclosed is an invitation to join the Altar Servers and some parents to a St. Paul Saints game on Sunday, August 28th.  The Knights are taking the Servers to the game to thank them for all that they do.  We have decided to make this a Knights family affair as well.  So, a hearty welcome to all Knights wives and kids!  And, if you have a large capacity vehicle and can drive, please call me (Todd) at 763-444-6116.  We need your RSVP by July 21st.  We are going to tailgate and we have some fun things planned for everyone.  I look forward to seeing you there!

Our next regular meeting will be Thursday, July 28th.  The August regular meeting will be on Thursday, August 25thMeetings start at 7:00 p.m

Knight of the Month:    Terry Iverson. Terry’s knowledge and experience in safety brings the Knights the ability to offer another new dimension of benefits to our community.  Thank you Terry for your steady support of the Knights.

Family of the Month:    Marv and Doreen Schommer.  Marv and Doreen spend countless hours behind the scenes doing things for the church community and the Knights.   In July Marv and Doreen created a Float that represented our Council as the first class operation that it is!  Our thanks go out to the Schommer’s.
