Volume 17           Issue 9          March 2004

Greetings Brother Knights and Family;

Thanks to all who have come and helped at our Friday Fish Fries.  Please keep open these last few Fridays so we can finish as strong as we have started.  The word is out that we have the best fish and meal around.  Over the last few weeks our average has been 400 meals.  Last week we served over 300 pounds of fish.  "BATTER UP" boys and don't change the recipe at all!

     This March celebrates the 122nd anniversary of the founding of our Order by Fr. Michael J. McGivney.  March has been designated as "Recruitment Blitz Month".  Please offer the opportunity to the men you meet at the Fish Fries and during our fellowship after Mass.  In order for our Council to obtain a Star Council award we must recruit at least two more new members and take them through the exemplification process by the end of April.

Remember our Council commitment to Friday Adoration.  We have committed to have one or more members present between 6-7 PM.

Jim Lechner, a former member of our council, is Grand Knight of Holy Spirit Council 12098 in St. Cloud and he has extended an invitation to all of our members to attend a Pro Life Mass on Thursday, March 25th @ 7:pm at Church of the Holy Spirit, 2405 Walden Way, St. Cloud.  He would especially like to invite the 4th degree in full regalia for the event.  March 25th has been designated "Day of the Unborn Child" and this is the 2nd annual celebration of this event.

Our annual awards banquet is March 28th.  Be sure to get your reservations in!  Call Todd Nelson (763-444-6116) or Vic Bennett (763-434-1047).

If you are interested in a position on our council for the year 2004/2005 please contact Todd (763-444-6116) or Duane (763-444-7250).  We will be electing new officers to begin their term in June.

The North Branch Council is having a Ham Bingo on Friday, April 2 at St. Gregory's Parish Hall following Stations of the Cross at 6 PM.

See you at the Fish Fries and Awards Banquet.

Considering our latest gas price increase, Ole says he doesn't care how high the price of gas goes.  He says, "I never buy more than five dollars worth anyway".
