Greetings Brother Knights and Family;
It’s back to school for the kids, time to start helping them with their homework at night, but it sure seems like the summer just started. Can you believe its time for Seton Fest already? The Knights are setting up for the festival on the evenings of Tuesday, September 14th and Thursday, September16th. Many hands make light work so we’re hoping for a good turnout of members. The Seton Fest is scheduled for this Sunday, September 19th, come out and help – it’ll be a fun event! Hopefully the weather cooperates.
Last weekend (Sunday, September 12th) Bob Morley and Tom Berglund hosted a Knights “Open House” at St. Elizabeth’s. It was a very good open house and Bob has several Form 100 applications for new members. Others showed interest and promised to return the Form 100’s. Bob is planning to send a group of men to the next exemplification on Saturday, October 30th in Osseo at St. Vincent De Paul church. Let Bob know if you’d like to go.
The Tootsie Roll drive check of $1,261 was turned over to Dana McIntire of the Special Olympics. We got some good photos of Dana with some of her kids for the scrapbook. Many thanks to all those who helped out, this is the third year we have helped the Special Olympics.
Our next regular meeting will be on Thursday, September 23rd, 2004. We will feature a guest speaker, Don Bania. Don will talk about his program for gathering and refurbishing wheelchairs for people who are in need.
The Fall Classic is upon us. The drawing will be on October 31st after 8:30 Mass at St. Elizabeth’s. We are asking each Knight to be personally responsible for selling or buying at least 2 tickets. See Joe Mau if you want more tickets. Tickets are $5.00 each. First prize is a Mossberg 500 Combo Shotgun, 2nd prize is a Mr. Heater Portable Buddy and 3rd prize is a Bushnell 10x25 Image View Binocular.
Our next upcoming event will be to host a “Pancake Breakfast” on Sunday, October 3rd after each mass. As in the past we will ask for a “free will offering” from the breakfast attendees. Plan on joining us – I look forward to seeing you there!
